Electronic Delivery: Consent, Copies and Access

Read an electronic-delivery agreement for its practical consequences, including retained copies and what withdrawal may affect.

Agreeing to electronic delivery is more than choosing whether you like email. The practical question is whether you can receive, read and retain the information the agreement covers, and what happens if you later change that choice.

The Republic Bank and Comdata E-Sign document linked from Corpay Prepaid, with an August 12, 2026 filename, describes electronic communications, access requirements and retained copies. It says requesting a paper copy is different from withdrawing electronic consent, and warns that withdrawal may lead to account closure. These observations apply to that specific document, not every card program.

Read for four consequences

  1. Scope: which notices and records are covered?
  2. Access: can you open the required formats on a device you can use reliably?
  3. Retention: can you save or print information you may need later?
  4. Change: what process and consequences apply if you withdraw or update contact details?

A fictional access problem

A worker can view a notice on a shared phone but cannot save the attachment privately. That is an access and retention concern, even though the message technically arrived. Before accepting terms or changing an existing arrangement, the worker should ask the provider about supported alternatives and consequences. This site cannot accept the agreement or change delivery preferences.

Separate a copy request from a preference change

Asking for one paper document and withdrawing consent to future electronic delivery may be different actions. State clearly which action you intend. Do not use a vague request such as “stop all messages” if you only need one readable copy, and do not assume that turning off an app notification changes a legal delivery agreement.

Keep contact maintenance on the right channel

If your email address or phone changes, use the verified provider process to update the relevant contact record. Changing an employer record may not update a card-provider record. Ask which systems are covered by a change rather than assuming automatic synchronization.

Read before consenting

Review the current document that applies to your program, including its issuer scope and version. Seek qualified advice if you need help understanding legal consequences. Our explanation is a reading aid and should not be treated as acceptance, a recommendation to withdraw or an assurance that a particular account will remain open.
